Mayes Cemetery

Directions: If you are going East from Fairfield go about 16 or 17 miles and road is on the left. If you are going West from Palestine on 84, you take FCR 301(Right past Pleasant Hill Children's Home) on right. Take the road around for 1.9 miles. You will come to a Y in the road. Go left to the stop sign. Lone Star Cemetery is on the left and Mayes is right next to it at the bend in the road.

This cemetery is a very old cemetery and there were some stones we couldn’t read all of. There were 7 Metal crosses marking graves. No writing on them. Three markers that we just could not read. There were some field stones in the cemetery that might have been markers for some of the graves, but not sure.
