Albert was born in 1866 in Freestone County.  He was born a slave and considered a Mulatto (part white/part black).  His mother's name was Carolina (word has it that she had seven first names).  At the age of 12, he bacame a free person.  Albert's slave name was Longbottom, as a freed slave he refused to carry this name so he changed it to Wright.
He later married Lillie (Peace) Wright (b. 1868) on July 15, 1891.  Their children's names are: Mary Etta, Sanford, Lewis, Lovely, Ardena (Daught), Gena (Jennie), Precious, Nola (Magnolia), and Alma.  He was a farmer and a builder and he owned one of the first tool sharpeners in the area.  People from all nationalities would go to him to get their tools sharpened, he was truly and enterprising man.  It is said that he built the building the Powers Family call home.
