Contributed by Ann Farnsworth The Teague Chronicle A.J. Canady, a good farmer of the Donie community, was in town Saturday. Mr. Canady had one acre in sweet potatoes last year and after using potatoes for his family of ten all the winter has sold $60 worth. Here is proof that Freestone County is a sweet potato country as well as for most anything else you want to raise on the farm. Car load after load of sweet potatoes can be shipped out of this community each fall and winter if proper effort is made. |
