Lena "Lea" Dubose

LENA "LEA" DUBOSE, age 80, died on Sunday, March 13, 2005. She was born on February 19, 1925 in Teague, Texas to Odis and Bea Burleson, where she was raised and graduated high school. After moving to Houston, she received her B.S. Degree from the University of Houston and embarked on a career teaching high school in H.I.S.D. and Sharpstown that spanned over 20 years. Lea enjoyed playing bridge and sewing. She owned and operated "Lea's Linens", a small boutique. She was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Houston. Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her husband of 21 years, Hansford DuBose; children, Gail Leake, Duncan McCoy, Melody Waggoner, Richard DuBose, Russell DuBose; grandchildren, Dawn Steinborn, Tami Smith, Keith McCoy, Amy Cortez, Meghan & Jessica Waggoner, and Casey, Brenna, Kylee, William, Cory DuBose and Erica Guetlein; four great grandchildren; and sisters, Winnie Kinser and Dorothy Sarrett. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, March 14, 2005 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Directors, 3320 Kirby Drive. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 in the chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Co. Interment will follow in Rosewood Cemetery in Humble.
