In the early morning of the 28, of September 1926 our kind friend, Franklin Pierce DUGGIN was called from our mist to share the glory of our master whom he accepted early in life. One of a large family, he was born at Kenton, Tennesse October 6, 1853. The son of Aaron and Elizabeth N. DUGGIN. He spent his childhood days at Kenton and recieved his education there. He chose teaching as his life work and after a few years of service in Tennesse he came to Texas in 1883 making his home at Fairfield, Freestone County until 1923 at which time he and his family moved to Waco. He was married to Miss Maggie WILLARD at Fairfield Jan. 1, 1890. To this union were born ten children, seven of whom survive him. Those of his family whos lives were sadden by his departure are his wife, seven children, Clara, Erin, Linda, Maggie Wren, and Evelyn of Waco, Frank of Afton, Ben of Houston, a brother, Jeff of Dyertown Tennesse, and a brother John and a sister Mrs. Drucie CRAIG both of Kenton Tennesse.

Although his health had been declining for several years death was expected by his loved ones and friends. Many beautiful floral offerings expressed to his sorrowing family the love and admiration of this host of friends and neighbors. We miss his tender sympathetic ways which  cheered the hearts of those who knew him.

A beautiful impressive service was held from the home at 1619 South 9th Street conducted by Dr. J. M. DAWSON of the First Baptist Church Waco and Dr. W. W. MILTON of the Seventh and James Street Baptist Church Waco. The scriptures read were taken from I Corinthians 15:33 -58 and James 4:14-15. The two precisous songs Near My God To Thee and Lead Kindly Light were sung by a mixed quartet. A brief service was also held at Parklawn Cemetery where interment was made.
