Dates in the life of the Longview Elks Lodge No. 1128

April 18, 1908 - Lodge organization committee requested issuance of a dispensation to institute,
                        claiming Longview to have 6,500 population.

April 21, 1908 - Grand Lodge denied request, stating that Census of 1900 showed 3,591 which
                        did not meet statutory 5,000 minimum.

June, 1908 - Longview municipal census taken at expense of organization committee reports 5,062
                   population as of June 17, 1908 to Grand Lodge.

June 25, 1908 - Dispensation granted to institute by GER John K. Tener.

July 3, 1908 - Longview Lodge No. 1128 instituted with 42 Charter members by DDGER W.B.
                     Craddock's trip to Dallas on July 13-16, 1908 for Grand Lodge Session.

July 15, 1909 - Charter granted at Grand Lodge Session.

July 9, 1919 - Duplicate Charter granted at Grand Lodge Session.

March 1, 1926 - Lodge No. 1128 Charter revoked, unable to determine reason. At the time, many
                        Lodges were closed due to violations of the Prohibition Laws in force across the
                        nation.

June 30, 1947 - Lodge No. 1128 re-instituted

July 15, 1947 - Charter granted by Grand Lodge Session.
