SHERIFF'S SALE
 

THE STATE OF TEXAS
County of Gregg

In the District Court of Gregg County, Texas

D K Caldwell, plaintiff  vs  J B Wells, defendant

WHEREAS, by virtue of an order of sale and execution issued out of the District Court of Gregg County, Texas on the judgment rendered in said Court on the fourth day of May 1920, in favor of the said D K Caldwell against the said J B Wells,
No. 3172 on the docket of said Court, I did on the second day of August 1920 at three o'clock pm, levy upon the following described tract or parcel of land, situated in the County of Gregg and State of Texas, and belonging to the said J B Walls,
to wit: Beginning at the iron stake, being the SW corner of what is known as the Texas and Gulf Railway shops lot; thence W with the S line of of said Texas and Gulf Railway property about 407 feet to corner; thence s 100 feet; thence E 60 feet; thence S 280 feet to a stake for corner. thence E 283 feet to stake for corner; thence S to Cotton Street 145 feet, iron stake for corner. Thence E with said Cotton Street about 56 feet to stake for corner. Thence N about 630 feet back to Texas and Gulf Railway SW corner, the beginning of point.  This being a portion of the property deeded to F M Gates by Mrs Nancy Patterson on March 12, 1917. And on the 7th day of Sept. A D 1920, being the first Tuesday in said month, between the hours of ten o'clock am and four o'clock pm on said day at the Courthouse door of said county I will offer for sale and sell at public auction for cash all the right, title, and interest of the said J B Wells in and to said property.

Notice is hereby given That by virtue of a certain Order of Sale issued out of the Honorable District Court of Gregg County on the 31st day of January 1921 by D W Wood, Clerk of said Court; for the sum of Seven Hundred twenty five and 5-100 ($725.05) Dollars and cost of suit, under a judgment in favor of W M Ellington in a certain cause in said Court, No. 3338 and styled W M Ellington vs Shedrick Dunn placed in my hands for services, I, J R Garner as Sheriff of Gregg County, Texas, did on the 31st day of January, 1921, levy on certain Real Estate, situated in Gregg County, Texas, described as follows, to wit:

Situated in the County of Gregg, State of Texas a part of the E Bradley League, beginning at the NWC of Sandy Dunn's land; thence N 10 degrees E 10 chains 34 links to corner of Fannie Dunn's land; thence N 80 degrees, W 10 chains 72 links;
thence N 10 degrees E 1 chain 97 links; thence N 80 degrees W 20 chains 25 links to the corner of Perkin's west line; thence S 10 degrees W 50 chains 34 links; thence N 80 degrees W 3 chains; thence S 10 degrees W 10 chains 34 links; thence S 80
degrees E 30 chains 77 links to the place of beginning, containing 42 3/4 acres of land, more or less, and being a part of what is known as the Amanda Dunn Homestead, and levied upon as the property of Shedrick Dunn and that on the first Tuesday in
March 1921, the same being the 1st day of said month, at the Court House door, of Gregg County, in the town of Longview, Texas, between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm by virtue of said levy and said Order of Sale, I will sell above described Real Estate at public vendue for cash, to the highest bidder, as the property of said Shedrick Dunn. And in compliance with law, I give this notice by publication, in the English language, once a week for three consecutive weeks immediately preceding said date of sale, in the Longview Leader, a newspaper published in Gregg County.
