Radford, Paul H - Pfc Paul H Radford, son of Mr & Mrs Charlie Radford and husband of Billie Cee Cardwell Radford; entered Army in 1941. Trained at Camp Maxed and Ft Lewis, Wash. Now at POE in San Francisco.
Radney, Ridgley D - Lt (SG) Ridgley D Radney, son of Mr & Mrs J P Radney; entered Naval Air Corps in 1941; served eight and one half months aboard the carrier Yorkton. One of pilots to escape in plane when Franklin was bombed. Holds Air Medal and Gold Star in lieu of 2nd Air Medal, and seven major Campaign Stars.
Ramey, Edgar L - Pfc Edgar L Ramey, son of Mr & Mrs W A Ramey, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Air Corps in 1944, trained at Sheppard Field, Texas and Columbus, Mo.; dispatcher now at Marana Army Air Field, Naviska, Ariz.
Ramey, Junior - Asst/S Junior Ramey, son of Mr & Mrs Ellis Ramey, husband of Caddie McDonald Ramey, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Merchant Marines in 1944; trained at St Petersburg, Fla; served in Egypt, India, South Pacific, China and France. Holds three major Campaign Ribbons.

Rogers, Myrle F - Pfc Myrle F Rogers, son of Mr & Mrs J E Rogers, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Army 1942; trained at Gainesville, Tx, Camp Claiborne, La., and Liverpool, England. Served in France, Belgium, and Germany. Awarded eight Battle Stars and Citation for Meritorious Service in Belgium.
Rogers, William P Jr - S/Sgt William P Rogers, Jr, son of Mrs W C Dobbs and husband of Frances Brown Rogers, attended Longview HS. Entered the Air Corps in 1942; trained at Sheppard Field, Texas. Has served in the Chinese Theater of War, where he is still on duty.
Rogillio, John H - S 1/c John H Rogillio, son of Mr & Mrs L E Rogillio, attended Longview HS. Entered the Navy in 1941; trained at San Diego, Cal. Served in England, France, Italy, Africa, Hawaii, and the Solomon Islands. Received one minor injury in the Aleutians.
Rollins, Bertha L - Cpl Bertha L Rollins, daughter of Mr & Mrs W H Price. Entered the Air Corps Div. of the WACS in 1943; trained at Des Moines, Iowa, Dyersberg, Tenn. and Ardmore, Okla. Now a patient at Harmon General Hospital, Longview.
Romines, Robert N - Pfc Robert N Romines, son of Mrs Mattie Romines, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Army Inf. in 1944; trained at Sheppard Field, and Camp Howze, Texas. Has served in Scotland, England, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Austria. Holds ETO Ribbons with three Battle Stars.
Rose, Handres - Pfc Handres Rose, son of Mr & Mrs Morris Rose, entered Marine Corps Sept. 1942; trained at San Diego, Cal. Served in Central Pacific from August 1942 through Dec. 1944. Now on duty at Conagree Field, Columbia, SC.
Rose, Morris Jr - S Morris Rose Jr, son of Mr & Mrs M Rose Sr, attended Sabine HS. Entered Merchant Marines June 1944; trained at St Petersburg, Fla. Served in South America, Africa, England. Now on duty in France.
Rothrock, Tony F - SPA 3/c Tony F Rothrock entered the Navy in 1944; trained for his basic training at San Diego and had further training at Bainbridge, Md. Now on duty at Naval Cadet School, Clinton, Okla.
Rothwell, Robert W - Robert W Rothwell, son of Mrs Zack G Ricker, entered Navy in 1942; trained at San Diego. Has served in Solomons, New Georgia, and New Caledonia; overseas for 18 months. On duty at Treasure Island, Calif.
Roush, Russell B - Sgt Russell B Roush, son of Mr & Mrs Guy Roush and husband of Mary Kirby Roush, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Air Corps, att. to the Marines in 1942. Trained at San Diego, Camp Miramar, Calif. and A & M. Has served in the Southwest Pacific. Holds two Battle Stars and Comp. Citation.
Rowe, Benjamin H Jr - Pfc Benjamin H Rowe Jr, son of Mr & Mrs B H Rowe Sr, husband of Beth Goodlett; attended Kilgore HS and Kilgore College before entering Army Reg. Band in 1944. Trained at Camp Wolters and Ft Ord. Calif. Served on the Philippines; has Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Battle Stars. Now on duty on Luzon.
Rowen, Samuel Lee - Pfc Samuel Lee Rowen, son of Mr & Mrs Chas. Rowen. Entered Marines in 1943; trained at San Diego. Served on Siapan, the Philippines and Okinawa. Engaged in 7 major battles in the Pacific. Now on duty in the Pacific.
Rowland, Arthur O - S 2/c Arthur O Rowland, son of Mr & Mrs Arthur Rowland; attended Longview HS. Entered the Coast Guard in 1944; trained at CGTS, Atlantic City, NJ.
Rushing, Frank M - S 1/c Frank M Rushing, son of Mr & Mrs G W Rushing; attended Judson Grove HS. Entered Navy, Blimp Div., in 1944; trained at Galveston. Now on duty at Tillamook, Ore.
Rushing, Woodrow G - ARM 2/c Woodrow G Rushing, son of Mr & Mrs G w Rushing, attended Judson Grove HS. The husband of Leona Newberry Rushing. Entered Naval Air Corps in 1942; trained at Kingsville, Texas. Now on duty in Hawaii, where he has been serving.

Russell, Therman Wayne - PO 3/c Therman Wayne Russell, husband of Helen Cantrell Russell, attended Longview HS. Entered Navy in 1944. Served on Pearl Harbor, Leyte, Luzon and Okinawa. Awarded Liberation of Philippines Ribbon, AP Ribbons, and his ship won special citation in battle of Okinawa. Served as Radar Technician.
