Bardwell, Robbie Roe Funeral services for Robbie Roe Bardwell, a lifelong resident of Gregg County, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2007, at Winterfield United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Rita Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Winterfield Cemetery, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Bardwell was born April 13, 1915, in the Forest Hill Community of Harrison County, to Harry C. and Birdie Keasler Roe. She married Bedford Bardwell on April 12, 1936. Mrs. Bardwell became a member of Winterfield United Methodist Church in 1944. In her earlier years, she taught Sunday school in the children's department, was a past president of W.S.C.S. and was a member of the Loyal Workers Class. Mrs. Bardwell was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of more than 65 years; a brother and sister, who died as infants; sister, Mabelle Martin; and two brothers, Joe D. and Edward H. Roe. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Faye Bardwell of Longview; grandchildren, Lynn and Clay Powell of Corpus Christi, Sheila and Kevin Blasingame of Diana and Sherry Vickers of Longview; great-grandchildren, Julia and Jennifer Powell, Ashley and Christin Blasingame and Josh and Kasey Vickers; sister, Mamie Richardson of Longview; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Those serving as pallbearers will be Josh Vickers, Jason Vickers, Kevin Blasingame, Clay Powell, Eddie Richardson and Harry Roe. Frank Traylor and Jim Clayman will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mrs. Bardwell to: Winterfield United Methodist Church Building Endowment Fund, 2616 Tryon Rd., Longview, TX 75605; or a charity of choice. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, May 17, 2007, at the funeral home. A memorial guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
