Carter, Hugh Gene On August 16, 2007, Hugh Gene Carter passed away in Oklahoma City, Okla. Born January 24, 1919, in Cushing, Okla., he graduated from Cushing High School and later from Oklahoma A&M University, with a degree in engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had a busy career with National Tank Company/C.E. Natco, retiring to Longview in 1984. He was an avid fisherman and golfer who loved his family, was compassionate and had a great sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years who was the love of his life, Dorothy Carter; his son-in-law, John Allain; his grandson, Brent Edwards; and his sister, June Morley. He is survived by his daughter, Joy Carter Allain of New Orleans, La.; his daughter, Carol Edwards and her husband, Roy of Edmond, Okla.; his granddaughter, Heidi Allain Judson and her husband, Louis; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Zachary of New Orleans, La.; his sister-in-law, Alice Walker of Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2007, at the Summerfield Cemetery, 7078 Tryon Rd., Longview Texas.
