Grammer, Mary Alice Funeral services for Mary Alice Grammer, 95, of Longview, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006, at Winterfield United Methodist Church, with the Reverend Gene Steger and the Reverend Rita Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Winterfield Cemetery, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Grammer went to be with her Lord on Thursday morning, September 7, 2006, at a local hospital. Daughter of Thomas E. and Mary Ella Huffman Bright, she was born November 17, 1910, in Nacogdoches. She married Aubra D. Grammer, who preceded her in death. As a devoted Christian mother, the loves of her life were the Lord and Savior Jesus, her family, and quilting. She was a talented quilter and was retired from Stemco. She was a longtime member of Winterfield United Methodist Church and Longview Chapter of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her only brother, Thomas D. Bright of Marshall. Mrs. Grammer is survived by her sons, Gene and Lois Grammer, Billy and Stella Grammer, and Roy and Glenda Grammer, all of Longview; a daughter, Barbara Utzman Doss of Longview; 12 grandchildren, Jan Utzman Slater, Donna Utzman Kissick, David Utzman, Ricky Hutzman, Richard Grammer, and Bryne Grammer, all of Longview, Mary McLean of Hickory, N.C., Jeannie Coward of Dallas, Judy Fountain of Omaha, Neb., Gordon Grammer of Greenville, Danny Grammer of Garland, and Tommy Grammer of Alba; 23 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a special nephew and wife, Bo and Jackie Bright of Longview; and niece, DeAnne Nail of Fort Worth. Also left to cherish her memory is longtime neighbor, Junaita Hiltzman. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, September 8, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home.
