Hug, Kathryn L. Baechle Kathryn was born on October 25, 1918, to Paula and Jacob Baechle in Belleville, Illinois. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy and worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Belleville. She met and married her husband of 56 years Roland Hug. Roland was the assistant treasurer for R.G. LeTourneau. They transferred to Longview, where they made their home for the remainder of their days. Kathryn was a dedicated Catholic. She helped to start the Girl Scout program at Saint Anthony's School and later trained Scout leaders in the area public school system. In 1958, Roland and Kathryn purchased Goyne's Cleaners in downtown Longview. She owned commercial property in Longview and was active in Longview Downtown Development. She also enjoyed sewing and spent many happy hours looking at patterns and shopping for material. After retirement, they purchased several motor homes and loved to travel and meet new people. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister. She is survived by her son, James, and daughter-in-law, Carol Ann Hug of Houston; her daughter, Carol, and son-in-law, Jimmy Oliver of Longview; two granddaughters, Tina Long and her husband, Allan, of Kilgore and Becky Oliver of Harleton; three great-grandchildren, Emily Long, Sarah Long and Allan Long Jr. of Kilgore. We wish to thank Dr. Sreeman Jampana, Nell Secord and Senior Care Registry, without whose help our mother would not have been able to stay in her home. We also wish to thank Teri Watson, Jean Ferrell, Maria Sartin, Millie Rae and Heart'sWay Hospice for their dedicated care giving. Funeral services and entombment will be Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at 10 a.m. in the Rosewood Park Mausoleum Chapel under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
