McNally, Dorothy Lorimer Services for Dorothy Lorimer McNally, 99, of Longview, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Rader Funeral Home Chapel in Longview, with the Rev. Jerry Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Mrs. McNally died peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2007, at her home. She was the daughter of Harriet and William Lorimer of Dundee, Scotland. Mrs. McNally was born March 17, 1908, in Kansas City, Missouri. Her family moved to Dallas, Texas and later to Corsicana, where she met Frank McNally, one of the early pioneers in Corsicana's oil industry. Married in 1929, Frank and Dorothy enjoyed 59 wonderful years of marriage. In 1935, Mr. and Mrs. McNally moved to Longview. During World War II, Mrs. McNally was the leader of the Gray Ladies Organization at the U.S. Army's Harman General Hospital in Longview. An avid golfer, she was the East Texas State Women's Golf Champion for many years and a member of the Pinecrest Country Club. She was also a former president of the Longview Chapter of the Junior League, serving the community for many years as an active member of the league. Dorothy was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Longview. Mrs. McNally was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; daughter, Mary McNally Murphy; grandson, Frank Murphy; grandson, Michael Murphy; granddaughter, Dorothy Murphy; and her brother, Jimmy Lorimer Sr. Survivors include her late daughter, Mary's husband, John Murphy of Longview; granddaughter, Linda Murphy and husband, Gerard Nash of Longview and Washington, D.C.; and one nephew, Jimmy Lorimer Jr. of Dallas. The family wishes to specifically thank her doctors and the many caregivers who tended to Mrs. McNally's needs during her long illness, especially Ms. Marcie Alsobrooks, Ms. Constance Ceja, Ms. Diana Reber, Mrs. Lucy Young, Ms. Sheila Isaac and Ms. Brenda Williams.
