Matney Jr., Fred "Big Daddy" Funeral services for Fred "Big Daddy" Matney Jr., 57, of Longview, will be 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road, with Eddie Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Old White Oak Cemetery. Mr. Matney passed away Saturday, June 23, 2007, in Longview. He was born June 3, 1950, in Longview, and had lived all of his life in this area. He retired in 1993 from Crown Cork and Seal after 22 years. He was the owner of Matney Landscaping and attended Stillwaters Church in Liberty City. He cared about his son and daughter very much. He also loved spending time with his three grandsons fishing and camping. He also loved his flower gardens. He loved doing special things with friends, Ray McKee and Don Campbell, and also loved fishing at Hat & Star Ranch. He loved life and never met a stranger. He is survived by his daughter, Robin Lee McDaniel and husband, Jerry, of Liberty City; son, Daniel Mack Matney of Spring Hill; three grandsons, Hunter McDaniel, Colby McDaniel and Jace McDaniel; brother, Dane Matney and wife, Kathryn, of East Mountain; sisters, Bonnie Wedin of Longview, Devonna Matney of White Oak and Diana Hughes and husband, Doyle, of White Oak; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Matney Sr. and Sarah Blackeney Matney. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today, June 27, 2007.
