Rhodes, Robert "Bob" Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Rhodes, 85, of Longview, will be at 10 a.m. today, June 22, 2007, at the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with Chaplain Larry Tyler officiating. Burial will follow in Winterfield Cemetery. Mr. Rhodes passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at a local nursing home. Mr. Rhodes was born December 15, 1921, in Shrum, Missouri, to Peter Ferdinand and Della Caroline Robins Rhodes. He came to Longview with Harmon General Hospital while in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Rhodes was a self-employed carpenter, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and he loved bowling. He was a member of the Holy Trinity First Congregational Church. Mr. Rhodes married Annie Blalock on May 6, 1942. Mr. Rhodes is survived by his wife, Annie Rhodes of Longview; three brothers; three sisters; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. The family would like to thank Good Shepherd Medical Center, the doctors and nurses, Heart'sWay Hospice, and Assistcare Home Health for Mr. Rhodes' wonderful care in his final days.
