Rushton, George Daniel "Danny" George Daniel "Danny" Rushton passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, as a result of complications due to a major heart attack. George was born July 23, 1943, in Henderson, Texas, to Dennis and Jewel Rushton. He graduated from Henderson High School and Kilgore College and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Rushton was a machinist for 45 years. He was employed at Axelson/Dresser for more than 35 years. The last years he worked for Pat Wright's Machine Co. George loved to fish, hunt and travel. He and his wife celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on May 26, 2006 with a month long road trip of the west covering 17 states. During that trip, they revisited the many places they had traveled to during their 40 years together. George was loved by all and touched all those around him. He will be missed by everyone. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon Ferguson; son and daughter- in-law, Biff and Laura; and his son, Kip, all of Longview. His four granddaughters meant more to him than anything else in the world. Lyndey, Shelby, Bailey and Courtney called him "Papa" and were thrilled and delighted to spend time with him filling the squirrel feeders, riding the paddles boat, picking tomatoes or whatever they could do together. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Margaret K. Harris of Longview; his brother, Jimmy of Henderson; and many cousins. A private funeral will be held at a later date. The family requests no flowers. They suggest you take a friend to lunch and remember George or make a contribution to your favorite charity. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. this evening, May 23, 2007, at Rader Funeral Home, 1617 Judson Road. A memorial guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com.
