Scribner, Elbert P. "Scrib" Graveside services for Elbert P. "Scrib" Scribner, 89, of Longview, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2007, at Rosewood Park. Interment will follow in Rosewood Park, under the direction of Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Mr. Scribner passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at a Longview nursing facility. Mr. Scribner was born May 8, 1918, in Oklahoma, to George and Nellie Scribner, and he had been a resident of Longview for the past 33 years, moving from Jacksonville, Fla. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was a retired civilian employee of the U.S. Navy, where he was an aircraft mechanic supervisor. He was member of the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite for more than 60 years. Mr. Scribner was a member of the First Christian Church of Longview. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife of 59 years, Mary Camp Scribner. Those left to cherish his memory are his niece, Sandra Richardson and husband, O'Dell of Fort Worth; his nephew, Gary Camp and wife, Mary of Daingerfield; sister-in-law, Minnie Scribner of Fort Worth; several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
