Sturrock, Ralph Lloyd "Buddy" Services for Ralph Lloyd "Buddy" Sturrock, 84, of Gilmer, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in the Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 4619 Judson Road, with Stephen Woodfin officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Mr. Sturrock passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at a local medical center. Mr. Sturrock was born December 26, 1922, in Sour Lake, Texas, to Barrett Travis and Mattie Greenwood Sturrock. He served as a sergeant in the United States Army and was a member of VFW Post No. 1183. He was a former Texas Prisoner Of War during World War II. Mr. Sturrock was a member of the Masonic Temple and Texas Farm Bureau. He worked as district foreman and retired from Mid-Valley/Sunoco Petroleum. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Sturrock and Milton Sturrock. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ralph L. II and Kathy Sturrock of Gilmer; daughter, Rhonda Sturrock-Bigham of Gilmer; grandson and wife, Ralph Lloyd III and Brenda Sturrock of Birmingham, Ala.; granddaughter and husband, Angela Marie and Glen Lester of Birmingham, Ala.; grandson, Richard Lloyd Bigham of Galveston; granddaughter, Heather Nicole Sturrock of Gilmer; grandson, Corey Lane Sturrock of Gilmer; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 529, Longview, TX 75606. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening, June 5, 2007, at the funeral home.
