Veteto, Mary Frances "Mamie" 
	
Services for Mary Frances "Mamie" Veteto, 90, of Longview, will 
be at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, at the Winterfield 
United Methodist Church, 2616 Tryon Road, with the Rev. Rita 
Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Winterfield Cemetery,

Mrs. Veteto passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2008, in 
Longview.

Mrs. Veteto was born January 25, 1918, in Longview, to Thomas J. 
and Jo Ann Harris Davis. She graduated from Longview High School 
in 1936 and attended Kilgore Junior College. She was a lifetime 
member of Winterfield United Methodist Church and owned and 
operated Orchid Cleaners with her husband for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Veteto, in 1996; 
and her sisters, Lola Belle Smelly and Gladys Moore.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Claire 
and John Bates; three grandchildren, Jana Claire Bates and Dr. 
Stacey Leigh Bates of Austin, and Jason David Bates and wife, 
Charissa of Longview; three great-granddaughters, Elizabeth 
Catherine Bates, Madeline Haylee Bates, and Jillian Claire Bates 
of Longview; niece, Jetta Moore Woodall of Orlando; and nephews, 
Billy T. Smelley and Mack D. Smelley of Longview.

Memorial contributions may be made to Winterfield United Methodist 
Church or to Asbury House Child Enrichment Center, 320 S. Center St., 
Longview, TX 75601.

The family will receive friends Saturday, following the committal 
services, at the church.
