Works, Claude R. Claude R. Works, beloved husband, father, and "Granddad," went to be with our Lord Wednesday, February 8, 2006, in Longview. Claude was born May 5, 1917, in Dierks, Arkansas. He moved to Longview during the 1920s, when he met and married Mildred Smith, his wife of 69 years. They had three sons, Jerry, Wayne, and Phillip. Claude was co-owner of BosWork Distributors for more than 40 years. He was an avid bowler, and loved to travel, hunt, and fish. Claude enjoyed time spent with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Works was preceded in death by his sons, Jerry and Wayne. He is survived by wife, Mildred; son, Phil and wife, Bettye, Works; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Works; grandchildren, Randy and Kim Works, Tim and Shirley Works, Daniel and Laura Jordan, Jason and Shell Works, Joseph and Tracy Works, and Jeff Works; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and Fred Bostick will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation will be noon Saturday, February 11, 2006, at Rader Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. at Rader Chapel. Interment will follow in Judson Cemetery. Published in the Longview News-Journal on 2/10/2006.
