GREENVILLE — Willie Larry (Bill) Duncan, 91, of Greenville passed away Nov. 18, 2013, at Legend Health Care. Visitation is today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Born Sept. 6, 1922, in Greenville, Bill was the son of Robert Larry and Hester (Cole) Duncan. On April 24, 1940, he and Bonnie Ruth Bench were married in Durant, Okla. Bill was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church and was retired from his lifetime work in residential and commercial construction.

Bill was born on a farm, graduated from Greenville High School, became a Master Carpenter, and in later years was construction superintendent for major office building contractors in Dallas.

Bill’s survivors include his wife of 73 years, Ruth of Greenville; two daughters, Nita Stone and husband Jerry of Princeton and Linda Sims and husband Jerry of Greenville; and a son, Robert Duncan and wife Carlene of Greenville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and three sisters. His grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
