This list contains a large portion of the available reference material on Hunt County, Texas. There are a number of important sources not yet listed on this page, and literally dozens of personal document collections, letters, and unpublished manuscripts not yet included in this bibliography, so this isn't by any means the "last word" with regards to Hunt County Genealogy. More will be added as time permits. In addition, a special section of works on Texas history that include substantial information about Hunt County will also be included at a later date.

If you become aware of other published or unpublished sources, please let me know and I will add them to this page. If you are in possession of any of these works, and are willing to do look-ups, please contact me. You will be listed on the look-ups page along with a list of the research material at your disposal. Many thanks to Robbie Giles, former Hunt County Coordinator for compiling this list. Items in BLUE are works that, while not on Hunt County, contain specific and important information on some aspect of the county's history, or are general works about East Texas or the blacklands that draw heavily on Hunt County for information or sources.
