Automobile Collision Fatal to L. M. Swindle

The entire community was shocked on Friday morning, March 22, when it was learned that Leslie M. Swindle was instantly killed and Harold Marshall was painfully injured at 5:15 o'clock when the coupe on which they were riding collided head-on with a lumber truck about five miles southwest of Greenville on the Greenville Dallas highway. The car was owned by Marshall and was driven by Swindle. It is understood that the driver of the truck was only slightly injured. Swindle's body was brought to Greenville and was removed to Wolfe City in the R. W. Owens and Company ambulance.

The accident occurred as Swindle and Marshall were driving toward Greenville from Dallas. The car was demolished and ... understood that considerable damage was done to the truck.

Lee, pastor of the First Baptist Church, was in the charge of the services, assisted by Otis Proffitt, pastor of the Church of Christ. Interment was in the Mount Carmel Cemetery.
