Church of Christ Honors CHS Grads with Silly Supper

Four members of the 1976 graduating class of Celeste High School, and their guests, who attend the Celeste Church of Christ, were honored with a "Silly Supper" on Monday night, April 19, 1976.

The affair was sponsored by church members and held in the home of the minister, Mr. and Mrs. Leamon Keele.

Each guest was given a menu of various unidentified foods or objects. From these foods, five were chosen for each course for a complete meal of four courses. Guests then ate their orders with fingers, silverware, or whatever they were lucky enough to have ordered.

The menu consisted of pizza, spaghetti and meat balls, lettuce salad, whipped potatoes, celery, spring onions, tomatoes, dressing, angel food cake, ice cream, hot bread, and tea.

Games were played between courses and after the supper.

Each senior received a personalized New Testament, compliments of Mr. and Mrs. Keele.

The tables were appropriately decorated with the graduation motif.

The seniors and their guest included Cynthia Harless and David LaFavers, Elaine Steen and John Hensley, Kathryn LaFavers and David Thurman. Mark Kinser was unable to attend.

Mr. and Mrs. Haskell LaFavers and Randy Keele assisted the hosts in serving.
