Betty Hickman, 81 of Greenville died Friday at a Dallas hospital. A memorial service will be held at Family Fellowship Church today at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Blue and Kenny Stone officiating. A family visitation will follow the memorial service. A private burial will be held at Memoryland Memorial Park at a later date. She was born July 22, 1925, daughter of Sam and Nancy (Levacy) Turner in Greenville. On Nov. 14, 1945, she married James Hickman in San Francisco, Calif. She served as church secretary for more than 45 years. She was a member of Family Fellowship. She is survived by her sons, David Hickman and wife B.J. of Huntington Beach, Calif., and Terry Hickman and wife Venita of Greenville; grandchildren, Joshua Hickman and fiancé Lacey Thompson, Lyndsea Tim Tim and husband, Chad, Nichola Wooten and husband, Tad, Alison Hickman and Chance Lowe; great-grandchildren Skylair Wooten and Arabella Wooten; a brother, Raymond Turner and wife Sherry of Greenville; sisters Rachel Freeman and Trixie Williams, both of Greenville, Janie Jones and husband C.E. of DeSoto, and Louise Butler of Garland. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, her parents; and several brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to The Attic, 5605 Sayle Street, Greenville, 75402. Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
