Bille Ray Adams, 75, of Greenville and formerly of Beckville died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Carthage with Brother Bruce Will officiating. Burial is Langley Cemetery in Beckville. Mr. Adams was born May 10, 1931, in Beckville; the son of Andrew Millard and Lola Mae Metcalf Adams. Mr. Adams was a retired electrician with Raytheon and the owner/operator of BR Dozier Service. He was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church. He was veteran in the U.S. Navy. Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Judy (Adams) Allen of Cooper, Becky and Clayton Smoot of Paris, Texas, Billie Lynn ande Brad Abell of Commerce, and Jeri and Ken Adams of Franklin, Tenn.; former wife, Betty Adams of Greenville, grandchildren, Jennifer Adams, Mandie Carson and Laurie Kate Carson, all of Franklin, Tenn., Marc Smoot and Adam Smoot, both of Paris, Texas, Trent Hemphill and BaileyAbell, both of Commerce, and Brittany Morris and Brooke Foley, both of Cooper; great-grandchild, Brayden Morris of Cooper; sister and brother-in-law, Sidgel and Les Minter of Beckville and their children, Pat Lewis and Junior Minter; and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Marc Adams; granddaughter, Lt. Holly Adams; two brothers, Aubry Adams and J.R. Adams; and two sisters, Cozette Adams Roper and Nevalou Adams Olsen. Pallbearers are Mac Poole, Don Zachery, Art Burns, John Gilmer, Weldon Wallace, John Scott, Claud Pippen, David “Hollywood” Allen, Trent Hemphill, Marc Smoot, Adam Smoot, Junior Minter, Leslie Butler, Bull Butler, Wendell Adams. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville and from 12 noon until service time Monday at Hawthorne Funeral Home in Carthage.
