COMMERCE — Charles E. King, 76, of Commerce died a 7:35 a.m, Aug. 11, 2006 at his home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Commerce under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. A graveside service is at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at Elm Grove Cemetery in Alpine, Texas, with the Rev. Johnie Henderson officiating. Born on Aug. 4, 1930, in DeRidder, La, he was the son of Lewis and Winnifred McMullen King. He married Marjorie Hill on May 24, 1956 in Alpine, Texas. He was a professor at East Texas State University for 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist of Commerce. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by three children, son and daughter-in-law Mark E. and Marshall King of Cumby, son John E. King of Springtown, and daughter Karen King of Longmont, Co.; two sisters, Jean King of Bossier City, La. and Betty Johnston of Fredericksburg; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three nephews and one niece. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, NCICFUL, P. O.
