COMMERCE — Charley Glen Clayton, 56, of Gilmer, formerly of Commerce, died Jan. 31, 2007, in Grand Saline. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel with Brother Terry Bryan officiating. Burial follows in Horton Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to time of service today at the funeral home.

The son of Charley Paul and Elsie Pearl Taylor Clayton, he was born July 23, 1950, in Commerce.

Mr. Clayton was a retired carpenter and maintenance man. He enjoyed playing his guitar and going to trades days.

Survivors are special friend Wanda Tucker of Gilmer; two daughters, Kate Gonzales of Dallas and Andra Jones and husband Creighton of Commerce; three grandchildren, Jason Gonzales and Cristian Gonzales of Dallas and Mason Hector of Commerce; two brothers, Jimmy Clayton and wife Sandra of Campbell and George Clayton and wife Rhonda of Horton; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Cherry Clayton and Cara Clayton; and two aunts, Jimmie Clayton and Ethel Taylor.

Pallbearers are Bocephus Bolin, Mathew Copeland, Mike Huggins, Richard Holt, Sanford Bolin and Woody Fisher. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Clayton, Chad Clayton, Glenn Parker, Larry Dean and Paul Clayton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray expenses.
