Dale Roach Dodson

Dale Roach Dodson, 75, of Bedias, Texas, died suddenly on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at his home.

Mr. Dodson was born on February 20, 1932, in Electra, Texas, to Wilford Ted Dodson and Mary Florine Roach Dodson. He was graduated from Electra High School in 1949 and then served in the US Army before attending the University of Texas, where he attained a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1953 in Accounting and became a State Certified Public Accountant.

Mr. Dodson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Huntsville, Texas. He was a descendant of the Roach family of Celeste and the Dodson-McCollum families of Leonard and Trenton. His McCollum ancestors, years ago, sold some land to Mr. Leonard, for whom the town is named. He attended the McDonald reunions in Leonard for several years.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Phyllis Deel Dodson of Bedias; a son and daughter-in-law, David Dodson and Joni Dodson of Spring; a daughter and son-in-law, Dana Clay and George Clay of Bowie; and five grandchildren.

Southern Heritage Funeral Home of Bedias was in charge of the arrangements.
