Don Ray Denton

Don Ray Denton, 71, on the wings of angels, he went to be with his father on Feb. 16, 2007, at Park Haven Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. A memorial service is scheduled at 4 p.m. Friday at Faith Bible Church in Caddo Mills with Pastor Randall Bost officiating.

He was born Jan 13, 1936, in the Donelton Community near Lone Oak, son of John W. and Estus L. Denton, the youngest of five children. He attended school in Lone Oak before proudly serving in the Army.

On Nov. 7, 1959, he was united in marriage with Rita Lara in Durant, Okla. He worked most of his adult life in the aluminum industry for Texas Aluminum, Cressona Aluminum and Texas Extrusion.

Mr. Denton was a proud veteran who continued to serve others by placing flags on the graves of veterans for many years and providing transportation to and from the Veterans Hospital for those who did not have a way in Hunt County.

Don Ray never met a stranger and will be missed by his many friends.

Don Ray is survived by his wife of 47 years; a son, Carlos Denton and family of Caddo Mills; a daughter, Lisa Denton of Plano; two sisters, Mary Lou Davis and Robbie Joe Burnett; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; a sister and a son, David Jacobs.
