Doris Anderson Campbell Adams

Doris Anderson Campbell Adams passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, in Commerce after a lengthy illness; leaving behind many family members and friends. Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the late Will and Maggie Anderson. She was born Aug. 26, 1923, in Detroit, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce. She was a member of Dicks Golden Girls of Commerce. Mrs. Adams is survived by three daughters, Melba and husband Douglas Willilams of Campbell, Wanda and husband Jerry Bomer of Commerce, and Barbara Campbell of Houston; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, V.L. “Bob” Campbell and Robert Adams. She was the last of six siblings; she was also preceded in death by Albert Anderson, Robert Anderson, Willie Bea Byron, Birdie Shipp and Margaret Johnson. Deep gratitude is expressed by the family to the staff of CHE, where she lived before becoming ill and to the staff at Oak Manor for their loving care, support and assistance during her last few years. Also special thanks to Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce for its support of our family. Funeral services were at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home chapel in Commerce at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday under the direction of Peters Funeral Home of Greenville. Burial followed in Prairie Valley Cemetery.
