COMMERCE — Doris Ruth Finney, 72, of Commerce died Jan. 22, 2007, at her home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Commerce with Apostle L.K. McGill officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home in Commerce.

The daughter of Claude and Georgie Williams Easter, she was born July 7, 1934, in Dekalb. She was married to Joe Relford on June 14, 1952, and to this union were born seven sons and a daughter; He preceded her in death. On July 26, 1987, she was married to Willie Finney.

Mrs. Finney was a cook and housekeeper. She was a member of Full Gospel of Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed cooking, keeping peace and going to church.

Survivors are her husband of Commerce; children Bobby Relford of Commerce, Henry Relford of Sulphur Springs, Jeffery Relford of Palestine, Delois Relford of Commerce, Billy Relford of Commerce, Bennie Relford of Commerce, Anthony Relford of Commerce and Richard Relford of Commerce; nine stepchildren; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Christine Jones of Greenville and Lenora Jackson of Commerce; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; a sister, Eddie Pearle Savage; two brothers, Ross Walker and Troy Easter; and her parents.

Pallbearers are Quint Weatherall, Gary “Yummy” Martin, Darrell Martin, Pat Gadlin, Shaun Pannell and Carey Pannell. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Neal, James Martin, Joe Reynolds, Tyrone Hines, Garrick Sampson, Glenn Bass and Tyrone McCurdy.
