Edward C. Buchanan

E. C. Buchanan, 4112 Wesley, a resident of Greenville since 1935, died Tuesday, December 30, 1958, at 8:15, at his home following a long illness.

Funeral services are pending with the James-Coker-Peters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lincoln County, Tennessee, Mr. Buchanan was born on July 8, 1877. His parents were Henry C. Buchanan and Josephine Kimes Buchanan. On November 2, 1899, he was married to Miss Alice Graham in Caddo Mills, and to this union three children were born.

During his residence in Caddo Mills, he was a successful farmer and when he moved to Greenville in 1935, his success continued in the real estate business.

Mr. Buchanan was a member of the Central Christian Church, a member of the board of deacons, and his interest in the church programs continued in the Men's Bible Class where he took an active part in class activities. He had been a member of the K of P Lodge for more than fifty years and throughout his life he was generous in his contributions to the church and civic interests of his community.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, G. C. Buchanan of Dallas, B. C. Buchanan of Tucson, Arizona; one daughter, Mrs. A. M. English, of Lubbock; one grandchild, Mrs. W. B. Ansley of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. H. G. Stevenson of Greenville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
