Evelyn Merle Gossett, 85, of Greenville died Nov. 25, 2006, at Greencrest Nursing Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, at Rentfrow Funeral Home chapel in Caddo Mills with Rev. Jim Anderson officiating. Burial is in the Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mrs. Gossett was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Caddo Mills to Goble Williams and Ola Mae Kurfess Williams. She was married to Woodrow Gossett. She was a retired inspector for Haggar Pants and a homemaker. She was a Baptist and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Woodrow W. Gossett; one sister, Nell Brooks; one sister-in-law, Mary Gossett; four nieces, Sandy Sarringer, Jerry Gail Dawson, Reba Sherrel and Glenda Towell; six nephews, Charles Williams, Robert W. Gossett, Malcolm Thomas, Darryl Norris, Danny Payne and Dusty Payne and several loved great-nieces and great-nephews. Pall bearers are Travis Owens, Rowdy Payne, Danny Payne, Dusty Payne, Dale Gossett and Bill Dawson.
Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Pete Gossett; two sisters, Joyce Williams and Margaret McAbee and her parents.
