James William Fleming
Lawn -- James William Fleming, 65, of Lawn died at 2 a.m. Friday at West Texas Medical Center in Abilene
after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church.
The Rev. Don Cauble, chaplain at Abilene State School, will officiate. Burial will be in Rogers Cemetery,
directed by Fry Funeral Home of Tuscola.
Born Aug. 30, 1911 in Wolfe City, he married Nancy Hancock May 15, 1941, in Ardmore, Okla. He moved to
Taylor County in 1951. He was an oil well pumper for several years, then worked for the Abilene State School
before retiring due to ill health in 1971.
Mr. Fleming operated a stock farm just east of Lawn, where he had lived past 26 years. He was a member of
Tuscola Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. He was a Mason.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Tim (Linda) Stottlemire of Dallas; a sister, Pauline Yost of Abilene;
three brothers, H. T. of Potosi and C. H. and J. A.(sic) of Dallas; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Sanders, LeRoy Sanders, Tyre Hancock, Garland Hawkins, Buril Dean Hudson, Roy
Vernon, Lloyd Stakely and L. G. Smith.
