Frances Arlene Johnson was born May 6, 1963, in Greenville, daughter of Alvin and Katie McMurray Johnson. She united with St. Paul Baptist Church of Neylandville at an early age, then later united with Southerncrest Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1981. Frances was employed with the Dallas County Probation Office for 11-plus years. Her parents; two sisters, Carolyn McMurray and Pamela Johnson; and one brother, Alvin Johnson Jr., preceded her in death. Those cherishing her memories are three sisters, Stephanie Johnson of Neylandville and Linda McMurray and Yolanda McMurray of Commerce; five brothers, Carl McMurray and Hudson McMurray of Neylandville, William McMurray and Melvin McMurray of Commerce; and Dennis McMurray (Linda) of Greenville; special aunts Ima McMurray of Neylandaville and Celesstene Mathews, Earltene Tazino and Latrice Johnson of Dallas and Christine Ballard of Longview; one great-aunt, Ruth Davidson (Melvin) of Kansas City, Mo.; two uncles, Randolph Johnson and James Matthew of Dallas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Neylandville. Visitation is from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas.
