Mrs. Elzada Baker Gibson Fugitt

Funeral services for Mrs. Elzada Baker Fugitt, 86, of Greenville, were held on Satuday at the Coker-Mathew Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Huggins officiating. Burial as in the Memoryland Memorial Park. Mrs. Fugitt passed away on September 3, 1997, at the Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.

She was born on February 22, 1911, in Floyd, the daughter of P. T. Baker, Sr., and Hattie Cheek Baker. A 1928 CHS graduate, she was married on September 6, 1975, to Wilbur C. Fugitt in Celeste. She was a retired secretary from the City of Celeste. Mrs. Fugitt was a member of the Thursday Club of Celeste and a member of the Celeste Untied Methodist Church, where here she was church pianist for more than fifty years.

Survivors are a sister, Mrs. Billie Brunetta Brooks of Dallas; stepson Curtis Fugitt of Sumner; stepdaughters Delores Lindsey and Judy Dixon, both of Greenville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Childress of Celeste, Bobby Fugitt of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Tome of Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Fugitt of Caddo Mills, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Fugitt of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Fugitt of Greenville, Mrs. P. T. Baker, Jr., of Dallas; nephews and niece Bill Baker, Ronnie Baker, Diane Gutman, Jeff Baker, Tucker Baker, Nash Baker; great-nephew and great-niece Clay Baker and Amanda Baker; and eight step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on June 7, 1993, and her brother, P. T. Baker, Jr., on September 24, 1986.

Pallbearers were Johnnie Lyon, Charles Blackstock, Bill Barnard, Mackie Don Babers, Jeffrey Babers, and Bob Barnard.
