Gene W. Cullum

Gene Wayne Cullum, 61, passed away Sunday, April 30, 2000 at the Veterans Hospital in Dallas Texas.

Mr. Cullum was born January 15, 1939 in Culleoka, TX, to A.B. and Mary Hall Cullum. He was a Hunt County resident for almost 30 years.

Gene graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas and attended the University of Arlington. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Shirley Webb Cullum; sons, Thomas Cullum and wife Cheryl, of Grand Prairie, Texas, Donald Cullum and wife Pam, and Wesley Collins, all of Royse City, Texas; daughters Wahalla Spraberry and husband James, of Grand Prairie, Texas, Valerie Pitt and husband David, of Van Alstyne, Texas, and Alicia Davidson of Royse City, Texas; his mother Mary Cullum; 16 grandchildren, Anthony, Charles, William, and Staci Cullum, Rhiannon Kemp-Cullum, Christina Kemp, Joshua Malidore, Jonathan Scott, Chelsea Spraberry, Brandi and David Pitt, Tasha Williams and husband Brian, Eric Day, Amber, John, and Kaitlan Davidson; and 1 great granddaughter Desaray Williams. Gene was preceded in death by his father Alva Bert Cullum, his brother William Thomas Cullum II, and a granddaughter, Stephanie Dawn Pitt. Services were held Wednesday afternoon, May 3, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in McKinney, Texas followed by burial at Altoga Cemetery, Altoga, Texas.
