Harry Glyn Champion, 82, of Commerce died Dec. 16, 2006. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Commerce with Rev. Glenn Taylor officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.

The son of Harry and Lorene Jackson, he was born July 30, 1924, in Commerce. He married Ann Bly in Greenville on July 1, 1952.

Mr. Champion served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a a principal, teacher and coach. He was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Commerce, the Masonic Lodge and served as a justice of the peace.

Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Andre Champion of Commerce; brother Alvin Champion of New York; and special friends Elizabeth Hines, Carol Grant, Mollie Hill, Harry Turner and Joe Tave.

His parents, a brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to the Mount Moriah Church Building Fund. Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home in Greenville.
