Services for James Duane Blue are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Shady Grove Baptist Church, Greenville, with Rev. Benny Chaffin, Rev. Isaac Chaffin and Rev. James Ralson officiating.

Burial will be in Sullivan Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

James passed away at the age of 69 on March 16 at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. He was born Feb. 9, 1938, in Shamrock, Tex., to Thurman McKinley Blue and Mable Nellie Roberts Blue. He married Elwanda Lou Chaffin in Celeste on June 15, 1974.

Formerly of Rowlett, he has been a resident of Campbell for more than 22 years. He grew up in Rockwall and was a teacher, coach, custom homebuilder, and Southern Baptist minister. He also was in the National Guard.

James was preceded in death by his parents, T.M. Blue and Mable Blue, and brother Kenneth Blue. Survivors include his wife Elwanda Blue; three daughters, Nanette Weghorst of Rockwall, Laura Peek of Rowlett and LeeAnn Anderson of Royse City; and six grandchildren, Aaron, Savannah and Sophie Weghorst, Dalton Peek, and Blake and McKenna Anderson.

Pallbearers are Aaron Weghorst, Allan Weghorst, Billy Peek, Mike Anderson, Mike Riley, Daren Money, Ryan Chaffin, Jacob Chaffin and Sean Chaffin.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
