Commerce – Funeral services for Commerce city secretary Jane House, 56, are set for 5 p.m. today at W.Y. Goff Funeral Chapel with Rev. Felix Keys officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.

Mrs. House died Thursday in McCuistion Regional Medical Center of Paris following a lengthy illness.

She was born Dec. 21, 1927 in Greenville; the daughter of Rev. T. O. and Martha Starkweather Perrin. A graduate of Greenville High School, she received bachelor degrees from North Texas State University, Texas Woman’s University and East Texas State University and masters degree from ETSU.

In addition to serving as city secretary, Mrs. House was the director of internal affairs for the city, assistant director of finances and an unofficial member of several municipal boards.

She was a member of several local clubs and organizations, including the Commerce Chamber of Commerce. She was a Presbyterian.

Surviving are four sons, Gary W. House and James B. House, both of Irving, Cary T. House of Denton and David C. House of Paris; brother, Rev. T.O. Perrin; sister, Martha Dexter of Prairie Village, Kans. and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Bill Cox, Jack Donovan, Charles Hankins, Wilson Alverson, Bill Williamson and Robert Huckabee.
