Jennetta Sims Johnson of Tyler died the night of April 29, 2007, in Emory following a long illness. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Grove Baptist Church with Rev. W.R. Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
Daughter of Mathew and Eloise Abernathy Sims, she was born April 1, 1935, in Emory. She was married to Willie L. Johnson in Tyler. She worked as a nurse's assistant and was a Texas College alumna.
Survivors include one son, Billy James Johnson of Tyler; two daughters, Linda Allen of Tyler and Mary Ann Armstrong of Dallas; three brothers, Alton Jones of Houston, Norris Lane of Emory and Robert Sims Jr. of Dallas; two sisters, Tredis Griffin of DeSoto and Telesto Riggs of Springfield, Va.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son and brothers.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home in Greenville.
