Jimmy Earl Boykin


1940 - 2008

Funeral services for Jimmy Earl Boykin, 68, of Point were held Friday, March 28, at the Cross Country Cowboy Church. Rev. Byron Houck and Rev. Mike Eason officiated. Burial was in Donelton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Brian Aderholt, Keith Boykin, Chris Gentry, Dennis Cason, Jeff Dodd, and David McCartney. An honorary pallbearer was Brandon Roberts. Jimmy died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at his residence after suffering a lengthy illness.

Jimmy was born in Lone Oak on March 21, 1940, to Lonnie Leonard and Emma Lorene House Boykin. He married Barbara Jean Aderholt in Emory on April 28, 1962.

During his working career he was a designer for AAA Wire Products. He was a member of Cross Country Cowboy Church, and he was veteran of the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara of Point; son, Lonnie Boykin of Point; daughters, Kim Hargove and husband Kevin of Point and Michelle Roberts and husband Jason of Miller Grove; mother, Lorene Watson of Gilmer; brother, Gerald Boykin of Tool; sister, Carolyn McCartney of Irving; grandchildren, Krista Boykin, Nicki Boykin, Brandon Roberts, Seth Roberts, Marcus Hargove and Casey Hargove. He was preceded in death by his father.

Point Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
