WOLFE CITY — John Otis George of Paris, Texas, died Saturday, July 15, 2006, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the Cross Trail Cowboy Church in Fairlie with Brother Jeff Bishop officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Mr. George was born May 23, 1914, in Winnsboro; the son of Henry W. and Emma Lue Harris George. He married Leona Barker Giles on Oct. 14, 1988, in Sparks, Nev. Mr. George was a retired plasterer and a World War II veteran. Surviving are his wife of Paris, Texas; son, Michael George of Redding, Calif.; grandchildren, Lori, Brent, Julie, John III and Vena; step-children, Vanetta Arriaga of Mount Pleasant, Frank Giles of Celeste, Gene Giles of Bogota, Elmer Giles of Canton, Miss., Dale Giles, Gary Giles and Tim Giles, all of Wolfe City, Jamy Giles of Lake Fork, and Tammy Giles of Cumby; and several step-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, John George Jr., his parents and five brothers. Step-sons are pallbearers. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
