Kenneth G. Jones

Kenneth G. Jones, 32, who was born and reared in the Hickory Creek community was fatally injured when his plane crashed in mid-air near El Centro, California last Friday morning, December 14, 1951. He was a member of the US Marine Corps and had been in El Centro for the week, flying practice missions.

Funeral services and interment was at Glendale, California on Tuesday, December 18, 1951, where young Jones had resided for some time.

Only five weeks ago, Kenneth Jones' plane crashed at another site in California and he was somewhat injured and narrowly escaped death; The Courier is informed. It is almost unbelievable that fate could have dealt two such blows in such rapid succession.

Jones was graduated from the Celeste High School in 1936.

He is survived by his widow, Eloise Jones; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gay Jones of Fort Worth; three brothers, Nolan Jones of Celeste, Carrol Jones of San Diego, California, and Dale Jones of Marshall; and two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Burchell of Marshall and Mrs. Frances Boling of Texline.

(December 21, 1951, The Celeste Courier)
