Emma C. Keith

Funeral rites for Mrs. Emma C. Keith, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cameron English in Houston on Saturday evening, November 24, 1951, were held at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 26, 1951, at the Methodist Church in Celeste.

The Rev. Dick Lear and the Rev. A. W. Cunningham conducted the services. Burial was made in the Mount Carmel Cemetery with arrangements in charge of the James-Coker-Peters Funeral Home.

Born on April 4, 1875 near Bonham, Mrs. Keith was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Cothan (?). She moved to Celeste when she was married and resided here for a number of years, later she moved to Greenville where she had resided for several years.

She as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are four children, A. R. Keith of New York, Mrs. A. W. Conn of Lufkin, Mrs. L. A. Burch of Corpus Christi, and Mrs. Emogene Keith English of Houston; and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Keith was a sister-in-law of Mrs. E. D. Bickham, Mrs. Anna Bickham, and Mrs. Berta Cobb of Celeste.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1933.
