Lestie Ann Pittman Chaney

Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM today in the Park Street Baptist Church for Lestie Ann Chaney, 69, of 4408 First Street. She died at 6:30 PM, Wednesday, in a local hospital.

The Rev. B. J. Bell and the Rev. George Topper will officiate. Burial will be in the Celeste Cemetery, with Coker-Mathews-Peters Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Albert Granberry, W. E. Williams, Rex Eaton, Gilbert Garrett, H. C. Burns, and Joe Newell.

Born on July 4, 1903, in Floyd, she was the daughter of William L. Pittman and Matilda Caroline Morgan Pittman. She was married in 1916 to George Marian Chaney who preceded her in death on March 11, 1959. She was a member of the Park Street Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Malcolm Chaney of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, Kenneth Chaney of Greenville, and Bobby Chaney of Colorado City; one daughter, Billie Jean Waddle of Greenville; three brothers, W. W. Pittman of Plano, C. W. Pittman of Princeton, and Harvey Pittman of Shreveport, Louisiana; two sisters, Melba Lowman of Richardson and Nell Crossman of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
