Marie Williams Denney

Wolfe City — Marie Williams Denney died May 17, 2007, at Briarcliff Nursing Home following an illness lasting several months. Funeral services are at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 20, 2007, at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Lee officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 19th, at R.W. Owens and Son Funeral Home.

Born March 2, 1918, in Wolfe City, she was the daughter of William Bill Williams and Emma Ruth Stokes Williams. On October 14, 1938, she was married to Charles Leon Denney in Whitewright.

Mrs. Denney was a retired school teacher. She taught school in Celeste in 1966. Survivors are a son, David Denney and wife Karen Denny of Murchison; five grandchildren, Stacey Trasancos, Tim Denney, Ashley Sanders, Steven Wooley, and Shelby Bradberry; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tommy Williams and wife Billie Williams of Wolfe City.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, LaJenia Wooley; her parents; two brothers, W.S. Williams and Marvin “Tooter” Williams; and one sister, Mary Nell Williams.

Pallbearers are Don Jacobs, Tim Denney, Steven Wooley, Gene Monroe, Tommy Lee Williams, Jim Sanders, and Robert Wooley.
