LONE OAK — Martha Gossett, 69, resident of Lone Oak, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2006, at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Her graveside service, under the direction of Quinlan Funeral Home, is at 2 p.m. today at Hooker Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Bertram Cooper officiating. Martha was born on Jan. 2, 1937, in Groesbeck; the daughter of Albert P. K. and Nelle Madlyne Boykin Shipp. She was married to Isaac Joseph Gossett, Jr., in Nolen, Texas on April 14, 1956. She was in bank management for many years and retired from the Franklin Bank of Emory. She was a Baptist in faith and a member of Sweetwater Eastern Star. She is survived by her son, Gary Alan Gossett of Lone Oak; mother, Nelle Shipp of Rankin; sister, Nan Owen and husband, Doug, of Rankin; three brothers, Joel Shipp of Wingate, Texas, Mike Shipp and wife, Kaye, of Florence, Texas, and Jarrell Shipp and wife, Julie, of Abilene; brother-in-law, Mark Gossett and wife, Billie, of Kemp; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of forty-eight years, her father and two sisters, Toga Brock and David Shipp.

Pallbearers are Big D, Michael Gossett, Justin Armendarez, David Tillison, Russell Owen and Texas Pete. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart or the American Lung Associations.
