Mary E. Beames, 73, of Greenville died Sept. 14, 2006, at a Dallas hospital. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Brothers Bob Layman and Larry Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home. She was born Nov. 14, 1932, daughter of James and Vallie Cole Hilary in Greenville, S.C. She married Bob Beames on July 18, 1954, in Greenville, S.C. Mrs. Beames was a member of the Garden Club, Investment Club, Red Hat Society, Groovy Granny’s, and WMU of Highland Terrace Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of Greenville; a daughter, Melanie Christine Williams of Greenville; sister Carolyn Tribble Jones of Ashville, N.C.; daughter-in-law Carla Beames of Houston; grandchildren Josh, Caleb, and Jonathan Beames, all of Houston and Trey and Elizabeth Williams of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dr. Barry Beames; and a brother, James Tribble. David Hawkins, Richard Williams, Josh Beames, Caleb Beames, Trey Williams, and Jonathan Beames are pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Memorials may be made to the WMU of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
